In a significant development for residents of Hohoe and the wider Eastern Corridor, the Government of Ghana has included critical road projects in the 2025 Mid-Year Budget Review presented by the Minister of Finance, Hon. Dr. Cassiel Ato Baah Forson.
According to the presentation, the long-awaited reconstruction of the Have–Hohoe road and the rehabilitation of the Hohoe–Jasikan road have finally been captured for execution. This comes as welcome news to the people of Hohoe, who have long endured the impact of poor road infrastructure on transportation, commerce, and daily life.
Reacting to the announcement, the Member of Parliament for Hohoe Constituency, Hon. Thomas Worlanyo Tsekpo, affectionately known as Efo Worlanyo, expressed gratitude to the Finance and Roads Ministries for prioritizing the area. He noted with optimism that work is already underway on the Have–Hohoe stretch, with contractors currently on-site.
“Concrete work will also start on the Fodome–Hohoe road soon,” he added. “Additionally, I’m glad to inform the good people of Hohoe that the 10km road linking Wli through Likpe to Hohoe has also been awarded.”
Hon. Tsekpo assured residents that these projects signal the beginning of broader infrastructure improvements and a more connected Hohoe. “Just keep the faith,” he stated, “because the coming days will be full of joy and celebration. Together, we will move Hohoe to the next level.”
The announcement is expected to boost economic activity in the municipality and ease travel challenges for residents, students, traders, and tourists visiting the region’s many attractions.
As the mid-year budget is rolled out, stakeholders across the Volta and Oti regions are watching with hope and renewed confidence that the Eastern Corridor will receive the long-needed attention it deserves.
