Hohoe, Volta Region - In a remarkable show of community-driven philanthropy, KCFC Foundation (Kikis COurt Fan Club) has donated a total of 267 bedsheets to nine healthcare facilities in the Volta Region, including the Volta Regional Hospital in Hohoe. The gesture forms part of the Foundation’s 5th Anniversary celebrations and marks the official launch of its Bedsheets for Sleep-in Health Facilities Project.
The donation, which took place under the theme “178 for 178”, underscores the Foundation’s commitment to supporting health infrastructure and enhancing patient care. According to Mr. Christian Adusu-Donkor, Founder and Executive Director of KCFC Foundation, the initiative aims to ensure that every sleep-in health facility in the Volta Region is equipped with clean, comfortable, and durable bedding to promote better healthcare delivery.
“We are launching this project to improve hygiene, comfort, and recovery conditions for patients,” Mr. Adusu-Donkor said. “Our plan is to partner with donors, the private sector, NGOs, social clubs, and individuals to scale this effort across the region.”
Facilities that benefited from this initial donation include:
Each facility received bedsheets tailored to cover every bed in their wards, with some facilities receiving two bedsheets per bed. The total value of the donated items amounted to GHS 32,970.00.
Mr. Courage Donkor, Project Coordinator for the launch phase, revealed that the bulk of the funding came from internal contributions, including generous support from friends and family.
“Our target is simple: #1Bed1Bedsheet for every sleep-in facility in the Volta Region,” he said. “We’re proud to have begun with 267 bedsheets and are hopeful this inspires others to support.”
Mr. Nelson Soh, Public Relations Officer for the Hohoe Sector of the Foundation, echoed this call, urging businesses, civic groups, and individuals in the region to join the effort
“By donating a bedsheet, you are directly contributing to a more dignified healing process for our fellow Ghanaians,” he said
