Windhoek, Namibia – Ghana’s Vice President, Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, traveled to Namibia to attend the state funeral of H.E. Dr. Sam Shafiishuna Nujoma, the founding President of Namibia. Dr. Nujoma’s passing marks a profound loss not only for Namibia but for the entire African continent.
In a statement, Vice President Opoku-Agyemang described Dr. Nujoma as a visionary leader whose unwavering dedication to Namibia’s independence and national development remains an inspiration. She highlighted his legacy of resilience, patriotism, and Pan-Africanism, emphasizing that his contributions will continue to guide future generations.
“On behalf of the government and people of Ghana, I extend our deepest condolences to the family of Dr. Nujoma, the government, and the people of Namibia,” she stated.
The late Dr. Sam Nujoma, who led Namibia to independence in 1990 and served as its first President, is remembered for his tireless fight against colonial rule and his efforts to unite and develop the nation.
